This set depicts the Russian Lifeguard Cossacks during the French invasion of Russian in 1812 and the subsequent foreign campaigns of the Russian Army. The Lifeguard Cossacks were remarkable for their attack against French cuirassiers at Leipzig – the Battle of Nations – in 1814.
